Environmental measurement, monitoring and engineering experience extending from the laboratory to river basins, and from the seas to urban infrastructure.
Established to provide services in environmental measurement and analysis, ALKA has, over time, expanded its field and laboratory experience with environmental monitoring, modelling and engineering work.
Long-term corporate collaborations began at industrial facilities, covering air, water and soil quality as well as environmental modelling and technical assessment work. Some of this work is still ongoing today.
Comprehensive monitoring of water quality and the efficiency of wastewater treatment plants was carried out in 14 Special Environmental Protection Areas across different regions of Türkiye.
Measurement and assessment work was carried out in 35 provinces through air quality projects covering the Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, Central Anatolia and Aegean regions.
During this period, work was carried out including the identification of air pollution sources, the calculation of emission loads, air quality measurements, modelling and site selection for monitoring stations. We also contributed to the development of an emission management system at national level.
Basin-based monitoring was carried out covering physico-chemical, chemical, biological and hydromorphological quality elements in river, lake, transitional water, coastal water and groundwater bodies.
Integrated pollution monitoring was carried out in the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, covering seawater, coastal and transitional waters, sediment and biological components.
Water budget, bathymetry, water quality and assimilative capacity studies were carried out on standing waters in eleven river basins. Practical measures were developed to protect and improve water quality.
In the same period, comprehensive water quality monitoring was carried out in the Antalya and Western Black Sea basins, together with second-phase monitoring activities in Special Environmental Protection Areas.
Construction-phase environmental measurement, analysis and monitoring work began on railway and high-standard transport projects.
This work covers the long-term monitoring of site conditions and environmental impacts along different sections of the route.
Work began on river basin management plans covering water quality monitoring, pressure-impact-risk analyses, environmental objectives, programmes of measures, economic analysis, modelling and GIS work.
In the same period, water quality and aquatic life monitoring was carried out for a floating solar power project, along with environmental monitoring for railway and terminal projects.
Safety planning work began in Kocaeli, Sakarya and Düzce to assess drinking and utility water systems from source to end user.
Environmental and operational risks in water sources, transmission systems, treatment plants, reservoirs and distribution networks were assessed holistically.
Wastewater analyses, stack gas emission measurements, clean water analyses and environmental reporting are being carried out for city-scale transport, drinking water and infrastructure services.
ALKA’s environmental measurement and analysis experience, which began in 1997, has grown through basin-based water quality monitoring, integrated pollution monitoring at sea, regional air quality assessments, environmental modelling and long-term project monitoring. Today, we provide environmental engineering services at various scales, from public institutions to major infrastructure projects and from water administrations to corporate industrial facilities.
